Comcrypt - polarity & audio

Hi

Can any1 help me to explain why I can get the second channel on the comcrypt decoder to work 100% but the first channel is somtimes inverted with no sound.
The mod is done using a mod chip.

What is the modchip ?
Do you mean that small board used to fix the polarity or what ?

The modchip is AT89C51 with the code fitted inside the decoder replacing the existing housekeeper's functions.
Two channels are encoded but the mod decodes only one channel with video and sound.
I don't understand why because it's only a second sport channel and its decoded whithout problems.

Hello my friend.

I live in Greece and I am interested for more information about modchip.
I saw in the ext4.rar two .jpg files but I don't understand how connect modchip to PCB.
In the Chips.jpg there are two foto:
One of them with two IC and one crystal, and other one with two IC+PINs.
In the ext4crpt.jpg I can see that is used the schematic with two IC without PINs (the first foto).
Nowhere however they don't appear PINs that connect modchip with PCB.
The second question concern the crystal: Who are the characteristics and how are connected

If it is easy for you give me the information that I ask, and If you have a schematic drawing from this BOX send to me.
My own theory and effort are supported in the reading of DALLAS and afterwards in the cloning.
I tryed to find way to connect the BOX with PC but without result.

Hi nicnt

The mod with the crystal is a older mod where the housekeeper is removed and replaced with a new housekeeper and the frequency of the crystal is also changed to 12Mhz.
The ext4 mod is used with the later decoders where the Delta 5 chip is removed from the decoder and placed onto the pcb with the extended legs. The mod chip is then placed onto the pcb next to the Delta chip and the entire pcb is the placed in the place where te original Delta5 chip was removed. The chips on the pcb will get the clock pulse from the decoders clock frequency and no crystal is needed.
That mod worked in my country 2 years ago but today with no sound and inverted polarity.
Maybe it will work for you, not sure
