Hi all, I am the original author of the first, and one and only, CableCrypt release 1 decoder (video) hack. Browsing through a few threads, regarding the CableCrypt audio hacks, I've come to the conclusion that Pharaoh is absolutely right. There still isn't a real working hack available and this doesn't surprise me a bit. We've already figured out how the audio is digitally encoded in the video stream years ago and we also have a slight clue about how the algorithm works thanks to a 8051 hack, done years ago on a very old South-African decoder that looked similar to the later known CableCrypt system by IrDeto. So, we (sort of) know what algorithm is used, but we don't know the exact key and vector-table entries used. And this is just the real problem. Using some kind of system like the Jerold Cube is nonsense, since the data is NOT FSK'ed on a sub-carrier. The Maxi Decoder is also not applicable here because we were talking about audio and what the Maxi Decoder only does is re-synchronising video. (Potentially it might work on the video-section of CableCrypt; I haven't tried myself.) After a few years of investigation we've stopped the research, mainly because we were out of ideas and feedback from others, but also because we'd received threats from Canal+/FilmNet to remove the content, or it was removed by the web space provider (I still cannot register videoripper.tripod.com again :-( ) Anyway, research (by us) is dead and unless someone else steps up, it remains dead I'm affraid. The solution is not a simple "cut track" modification, but it requires a controller with the right algorithm, at least. Greetz, Peter <aka The VideoRipper> videoripper@hotmail.com

Like peter said dont expect a audio hack soon or at all, the only two mods i have seen that works was the mod chip but they change the signal so i does not work anymore and second one was the cloning of the e2prom next to the 8051 or delta chip that one still works Copy the e2prom of a frend that is paying and place it on yours that still works
